Acceptable documents
We need certain documents to verify your identity and right to work in the UK. This is a legal requirement.
Applicants are required to provide either one of the documents in the primary list or two of the documents in the combinations as shown in the secondary list.
Look at the primary list of acceptable documents starting on page 20 in the following PDF (Adobe portable document format) document from the UK Border Agency. If you do not have any of the primary documents, please look at page 31 for the list of documents which show a right to work for up to 12 months. Note: Any documents that are not in these lists are not acceptable.
A simple overview can be found here. We will only accept documents that are listed in the document on the UK Border Agency web site.
The links on this page are to an external web site for the UK Border Agency which is part of the UK Home Office. The site refers to employing migrant workers, but the employment requirements and the documents that are needed to verify the right to work in the UK are the same for everyone.
